I love philately !!! oh the fun things ya find !!
My favorite part of this hobby is that you never know when you will get a nice surprise. I was buying a couple of NJ postmarks from one of my regular eBay cover dealers and will usually add a few cheap but interesting covers to my order. This was one of them. I liked the safety message on the meter cancel. I thought it would go into my automotive collection. The fact that it was forwarded and had a nice Indy cancel made it more interesting. So I spent a dollar or two.
There was no mention of an enclosure on the eBay listing. No doubt a dealer loading up dollar covers quickly. It had weight to it and I found a nice letter from the Governor of Maine, Sumner Sewall. Now that would have been enough, but since Google is my friend, I searched "Sumner Sewall" and was surprised:
"Sumner Sewall (June 17, 1897 – January 25, 1965) was a U.S. Republican politician and airline executive who served as the 58th Governor of Maine from 1941 to 1945. He began his aviation career during World War I as a fighter ace."
Wow! The story continues here:

So we have an autograph from a World War I fighter ace hero! Pretty darn cool!
