Egypt C53 - C64 has a number of Overprint colors (BL), (G) and (RV). What is (RV) an abbreviation for? I don't see it listed in abbreviations listed in the catalog intro, I'm looking at a 2016 Scott catalog.

re: What color is (RV)

I emailed this to Amos media. I got these two responses the next day:

First: Thank you for noticing these. The RV means that the overprint comes in both red and violet. I apologize that the listings are unclear, and I will make the necessary changes to improve these listings.

Second: I did a bit more digging on the (RV) in Egypt. If we were indicating either red or violet the syntax should have been (R)(V) not (RV). However I find no reference anywhere to a violet version of this overprint. I believe these exist only in red, all other colors are from trial printings. There was not a violet trial printing.
Thank you for pointing this out. I will continue to research this.
