This is kind of a neat registered ad cover from Opello? Arkansas. I don't have a listing for this town. It must be a DPO, but it is not in my listing. There could be part of the name missing, but the strike is pretty good. I would like help identifying and finding the scarcity of it.

re: Does anyone recognize this Arkansas postmark?

It might be Opello, Arkansas. (Although I just noticed the difference in spelling).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oppelo,_Arkansas

I can't turn this into a link, because the Discussion Board chokes on an extra comma in the link (and won't accept an HTML entity replacement).

You will have to copy and paste.

re: Does anyone recognize this Arkansas postmark?

An Oppelo Post Office was open in Perry County from 1867 until 1878 and carries a rarity factor of 7 in Helbock. Also existed in Conway County between 1880 and 1913 with a rarity factor of 4.

That is a very nice cover, particularly with the 10 cent rate.

For value search Ebay for rarity factor 4.

Thanks Guys,
It looks like it is just a different spelling for Opelo.
