Do we have any members who live in BC and/or have access to postmarks from Grantham`s Landing ? The PO has been closed for some time, but would be interested in collecting an old postmark.

Hi, I live on the Sunshine Coast but north of Grantham's Landing. I'm in Garden Bay.
Do not have any postmarks on Grantham's, but will keep looking, Cheers

Thankyou for the response. The PO has been closed for a while so these are trickier to locate

Did a search on Ebay for your postmark, but found none.

I did, however, find an image of one;

...quite an interesting one, I might add!

They used roman numerals in the date stamp???

Am I correct in assuming this is from 1878?

No, the stamp is from the 1978 CAPEX issue (Scott 754). Canada routinely uses roman numerals for the month in the datestamp.

Actually the whole cover the image above is taken from is interesting:

(You won't find this on the internet, until now, as it is in my personal collection.) I did find on my computer the following partial strike on a loose stamp (rather, cutout):

You'd be welcome to have that one, but I'm not sure I could put my hands on it quickly.
