I suggest you check the Sardinia listing.
Italy grew out of the Kingdom of Sardinia and the first Italian set was a perforated version of the last Sardinian set.
There were also similar Neapolitan Provinces stamps from the same period.
there are also lots of forgeries of this particular design from Sardinia... be wary. I have several can't remember who they are attributed too though.
Well, well, what a surprise. Sardinia! I never would have found it under that listing, because my search patience level would have evaporated in the process. It looks like my "High Value" prize just went from Italy #17 to the "low Value" Sardinia #11. Well, I guess this is why I still collect stamps after 65 years of collecting. The hobby is always full of surprises. Thanks (Stampbaby)
The Scott Catalogue does not list Italy SC #17 as issued imperforate. Question: The stamp appears to be genuine and likely the perforations were cut. This "High Value" stamp has been hinged, has no gum, nor cancellation marks; thus it is (MH No GUM). Given these factors, is there any way to estimate valuation?
