Hi everyone,

I'm working up a collection of Great War (World War One) material. Where possible I include biographical notes and photos of senders and recipients. The return address on my Barbados War Tax cover is a puzzle. It is illegible to my old eyes, and could be a number of letter combinations.

I think it is from some sort of tourist or war-related board, but that's a wild guess. Can you help?

Looks to me like BRP when compared to the "p" in Topeka. Maybe someone else can weigh in with an interpretation.
Maybe it stood for something along the lines of British registered person or British regimental Platoon.
There are church records available on the internet if you think a marriage/birth/death might have occurred.
You may want to correct the error in line 8 of your page. ("their" is in twice)Not sure about "sate" in line 2?

I could see the Box 44 but the "o" does not seem like the other "o's", but it would be logical.
Ps Think Lucy was in Shawnee in 1920 US census, no longer have Ancestry access so cannot be certain it is the same person.

Don't overthink it folks, it's simply a scrawled "Box 44"
