Is there an error in the catalog?
Under UC31 it says 6 cent with 1 cent red?
I have a 1 cent green?Image Not Found

It is just calling out the embossed color, not the overprint color, as shown above.

re: Scotts Specialized catalog of Stamps??

Hi postalpicker,

Your stamp looks consistent with the catalogue, i.e. 6 cent RED stamp with a 1 cent GREEN surcharge.

The style of the listing of this set seems a little strange to me but I don't use the Scott catalogues often.

The description at the top of the set under the picture refers to various envelopes, "Nos. UC3-UC5, UC18 and UC25 Surcharged in green at left of stamp.", implying that the surcharge is always in green.

The example in the picture shows one of the UC3-UC5 group with a 6 cent ORANGE stamp and the GREEN one cent surcharge to its left.

In the same way as your stamp, each of the surcharged envelopes with orange stamps is listed below in the form: 6c + 1c ORANGE (without mentioning explicitly the colour of the surcharge).

Edit: I agree Don.
