Hi Pooh
Happy Easter.
Rob
A few more days. Going to be interesting how people invent novel and safe ways to celebrate.
I sincerely hope all who read this remain untouched by the virus, and are able to give thanks for that this Easter.
I am in "solitary confinement" in a country where I cannot speak the language, and have no real friends. Although I only receive a small pension, I am donating as much as I can to help a family of 5 whom I recently met, and who have been helpful to me over the past few months. If I can keep the Dad from having to go out to try and earn $ each day, to feed his wife (who will also go out to work if she must) and kids, and keep them away from contagion, then I will have much to celebrate this Easter.
Please stay safe, everyone!
From my holiday post card collection, an illustrated card with Jesus giving a blessing. The verse, however, is mostly secular. I don't know what the G.W.C. in the message space means. The sender's initials, perhaps.

It will be strange..for the first time in 50 years we will not have our children with us to celebrate Easter Sunday. But we really miss the traditions Palm Sunday,Good Friday, The Easter Vigil on Saturday evening. Be safe everyone.
I miss the giant Easter egg, beautifully decorated that used to be in the sweetshop window and was always raffled off for charity. Never won but enjoyed the thought of possibly eating probably until sick. Miss the smaller individual eggs, not the tiny ones, but the hand sized ones. The chocolate in Canada is ruddy awful compared to the UK so don't even buy much Cadburys now as it is made By Hersheys and is sickly.
Guess I'll just have to rely on the taste bud memories, no Easter eggs in this house this year.
Happy Easter to everyone, stay safe whatever you do.
Hi
The message is supposed to be GWG
Which is short for Go with God
Frequent Flyer, it is a truly lovely Holy Card, the design is done by chromolitothograpy, which these days would be very expensive. I have an old family photo album with illustration done by the same method. Somewhere I have a stack of postcards also.

Hello Horamakhet:
Many thanks for your comments on the Easter card. Perhaps, the sender intended to modify the GWG initials to GWC as an abbreviation for Go with Christ??
I never fail to be impressed with the high color quality on those late 19th- early 20th- century greeting cards.

Hi FrequentFlyer
You are probably correct.
We Catholics have a lot of anagrams like that
AMDFG All My Deeds For God, At school we had to write this on every page in our books that we wrote our work in.
ASG St. Anthony Guide, this was put on the back of letters so they would not get lost in the mail, My Mother in Law still uses it. She has never had a letter mis directed or lost.
Regards

Hi FrequentFlyer
If I ever come across one, I will let you know, it is amazing what sometimes turns up in opp shops in Australia
