Just a privately produced souvenir from the Essen Stamp Fair, from the 1st to 5th November 1978.
Probably worth a couple bucks.
Just like BrightonPete said :
Private Souvenirsheets.
At the larger stamp fairs in Germany, these sheets are given away to the first 1000 visitors. If you came later you could buy them for 5 Deutsche marks.
And look at the inscription on the top left corner of those stamps.
It says 2. internationale briefmarken-messe on the 1 mark stamp
And this is one of the 3 series it should say :
I was there in Essen in 1978 Here are some other sheets from other stamp fairs :
You have to look closely at the stamps to see the differences.
Just under the design it says ND 1978 wihich means newly printed in 1978
Just under the design of the Goethe stamps it says Philatelia '81
Above the head of the horse it says Grosser preis der Rhein-Ruhr-Posta '79
So 1938324 look very closely at those high price stamps before you buy them.
We can not warn you enough........
P.S.
From the original POLARFAHRT are fakes too.
Always look at the back of the stamp.
Here are fake ones that I have with the imprint : PRIVATER NACHDRUCK
That means "Private reprint"
All Reprints with forged Expert Signiatures :
"All Reprints with forged Expert Signiatures "
"It appears as though some people are removing the 3 stamps and selling them on Ebay as MNH stamps. Please note that the 3 MNH stamps have a CV of $420."
The Minisheets didn't all have those overprints! I sold one here on SOR. The above are from such a sheet.
The bottom line has to be, what exactly do I have here? I can't find it in Scott. It appears as though some people are removing the 3 stamps and selling them on Ebay as MNH stamps. Please note that the 3 MNH stamps have a CV of $420. Something just doesn't seem right here. Thank you.
