Hi, I have a question re: Canal Zone Scott #112, a 20 cent stamp featuring Rear Admiral Harry R. Rousseau. It's listed as being dark brown...and I have one that is dark brown. However, I have another copy of that stamp that is actually black...or else extremely dark brown. Is this common? I hadn't run across any notable color differences in Canal Zone stamps previously... Both are MLH or MNH. Just curious... Thanks! Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Check your Scott listing -

there is also a 112a: Wet printing that is olive brown;

this wet printing issue appears as almost black, but isn't.

musicman, Thanks for the clarification. I saw the alternate listing but didn't relate the color shown to my almost black stamp. Stay Safe and Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
