Collecting the various political, charity, and fundraising labels of the Spanish Civil War
era can be both interesting and challenging. I’ve seen informal estimates of as many as
5,000 issues released during the three-year conflict.

Given these labels are either not listed or only partially listed in some of the more popular catalogues,
I sought to identify some specialty references. Here are three resources I’d like to share
with other SOR members having an interest in this niche area:

“Vinetas Politicas Republicanas de la Guerra Civil Espanola”, Jose Vicente Domenech.
AFINET, 2012. 60€.

“Catalogo de Los Sellos Locales de la Guerra Civil Espanola”, Julio Allepuz Querol.
Edifil, 2011. (This is a multi-volume set priced at 100€ each.)

Website: Agora de Filatelia dot org. A veritable cornucopia of information.

Would be interested in hearing from other SOR “members” having an interest in this area.

re: Spanish Civil War labels

The best, by far, is the work by José Vicente Domenech. A new, much enlarged eddition is due later this year. Fully illustrated, with a lot of information. A good value for money!
