I suspect it is a revenue stamp.
Could be a local, issued by the Nazis or a pro-Nazi group just after the Nazis took over the Sudetenland in 1938. Lubenz is the German name for the Czech village of Lubenec. I think the first word of the inscription below is "Our" but I can't make out the rest - it might say something like "Our time is here!" I am sure someone else who knows for sure will chime in.
Oops, I see now that the Scott Catalog does have a note in Czechoslovakia from 1938 about swastika overprints, in line with what I said above.
likely general government ...

the second word is Heimat, i.e. homeland
I think now it might say "Our Homeland is free!" i.e, the Sudeten Germans were glad to be back as a part of Germany.
Hi All,
Thank you for your information, and I do now see that note from 1938 about certain stamps overprinted with a swastika.
Everybody's answers are much appreciated, and once again they have solved a problem,
Cheers,
John

The "LUBENZ Unsere heimat ist frei!" is not a cancelation.
It is an overprint on the stamp and probably FAKE.
The stamp has a cancellation at the bottom right corner but is unreadable.
There are many NOT- und BEFREIUNGSstempel but like this never seen one.
Here are some examples of these special "STEMPEL"
Thank you again for the multitude of very detailed answers, Cheers,
John
Just cannot find it in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Bohemia, Hungary. I know it is originally from Czechoslovakia but cannot find the overprint of a swastika and Lubenz.
Thanking you in advance for your help.
