I have recently seen, on various web site, stamps for sale that are described as "Queen Victoria posted in India"

Is there a catalog or a web site that can be used to reference post marks on stamps.
I would think that British stamps could, at one time, be used in any of their colonies, so I am interested in finding out how I could discern a postmark of a British stamp or any other stamp from Country A posted in Country B?

re: Foreign post marks on British and other stamps.

This website, by the Great Britain Philatelic Society, is rather useful for determining where a British stamp "used abroad" was cancelled:

England & Wales Provincial Series – Overseas Allocations

Now, can anyone sell me a bulk, unsorted lot of such stamps?

If you know the country it was used in, there is good information in the Stanley Gibbons 1840-1970 catalogue.
