Needing a check on sizes for a set of Aland Islands stamps please

2015 Folk Dress Brooches - Joint Issue Aland with Switzerland
3. September

Both Colnect and StampWorld say 35 x 35, but is that actual stamp size square or point to point diamond?

re: Size of Aland stamp please

I have not looked at the set in question.
Normally you would measure the stamp outer frame line to outer frame line, not including the perfs or space between perf tips and frame line.

Ok these are the stamps.

In the case of Nr 341 measure between the edges of grey, in 342 I would measure the white surround to the design, not the grey.
Let us know how it works out.

re: Size of Aland stamp please

I need size perf to perf, all sizes in StampWorld and Colnect are perf to perf, this set of two however are diamond shaped so not sure how they have been measured. They could be the same size as the Swiss issue???

re: Size of Aland stamp please

I would surmise that they are the square measurements as the sheets were issued as square. This is the "normal size" for a lot of the British square commemoratives of recent years, in which case the diagonal measurement is a fraction under 50mm.
Square of the hypotenuse is the sum of the squares on the other two sides in a right angled triangle.
Ie, 35x35 + 35x35 = 2450, the square root of which is 49.497.
Probably doesn't help, but it's fun.

Someone on another site asked Aland Post directly for me and they confirmed the size on the 2016 Nordic cuisine stamp measures 35mmx32mm, there was a typo on their site which will be corrected.

re: Size of Aland stamp please

Thank you Dakota, Just a quick question, the stamp image above for Nr 341 does not seem to show a value, was it a label or am I missing something?

Edit
Ok I think that I have been interpreting the EUROPA as the organization rather than the actual stamp tariff.

re: Size of Aland stamp please

FYI

Non-denominated stamps are designated Lokalpost, Inrikes, Europa, Världen or Julpost. The terms were introduced in 2008. The value of non-denominated stamps increases when postage tariffs increase. The terms equal a pre-set postage value as follows:

Lokalpost (local mail): priority mail within Åland, max. weight 50 gram.
Inrikes (domestic): priority mail to Finland, max. weight 50 gram.
Europa (Europe): Priority mail to the Nordic countries and Europe, max. weight 20 gram.
Världen (the world): Priority mail to international destinations, max. weight 20 gram.
Julpost (Christmas postage): Christmas greetings to destinations in Åland, Finland and Sweden, max. weight 20 gram, at a reduced rate during a limited period of time in November and December. The stamps may be used as postage the entire year. The postage value of the stamp is based on the most recent Christmas postage tariff.
