Hi
Since we don't have squirrels in our part of the world and there is no country on the stamps, I would hazzard a guess and say they are British
Regards
Horamakhet
If this ebay item is anything to go by they are Australian.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Australia-Stamps-Pre-Decimal-Saving-Stamps-x-14-MNH/143693169093
The squirrel is so un-Australian. Looks like A British set, Britain also has cockatoos.
Savings stamps that were attached to special coupons for shopping in UK stores.
HI REX,
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF YOUR STATEMENT ABOUT THE STAMPS IS A SUGGESTION OR IS YOUR STATEMENT A FACT.
IF IT IS A FACT, DO YOU POSSIBLY HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THEM, BECAUSE I STILL CAN'T FIND ANYTHING. DO YOU KNOW FROM WHEN TO WHEN THEY WERE ISSUED, WHAT STORES ISSUED THEM, DO YOU KNOW OF ANY NEWS ARTICLES ABOUT THEM, DO MANY PEOPLE COLLECT THESE STAMPS THAT YOU KNOW OF.
BEST WISHES,
ROB
Hi Rob,
In all honesty I'm not sure, but they look like stamps I've seen somewhere before. 1970sh. .private stamps given to customers of large uk stores. The stamps were attached to coupons, which once returned to the stores gave the right to discounts or prizes. This is what came to my mind immediately after seeing them. I did some researches on the web that was unsuccessful, so take everything I wrote with a grain of salt.
Maybe email the ebay seller and ask what he knows about their origin.
I don't think they are UK stores as they do not have a brand name. UK savings stamps issued by the government would usually have "National Savings" on them.
I think these may be fantasy stamps but perhaps the seller can confirm where they got their information.
HI REX,
I E-MAILED STANLEY GIBBONS (STAMP DEALERS IN LONDON) AND THEY PRETTY MUCH SAID EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID. LIKE ALL OF US SO FAR, THEY DIDN'T KNOW, THE COMPANY OR BANK, DIDN'T KNOW THE PRINTER, AND DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THEY WERE ISSUED. THEY DID THINK HOWEVER, THAT THEY WERE FROM THE UK. THEY ALSO SAID THEY HANDLE SIMILAR PRIVATE ISSUES WHICH USUALLY COME TO THEM IN LARGE NUMBERS, USUALLY IN SHEET FORM, BLOCKS ETC. OR ATTACHED TO SAVINGS SHEETS/COUPONS. NO MENTION OF VALUES. HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE THE LARGE NUMBERS. I HAVE 892 OF THEM, ALL MINT. HOWEVER, THERE NOT IN SHEETS, THEIR ALL INDIVIDUAL STAMPS.THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP REX.
ROB.
HI SHEEPSHANKS,
THANKS, FOR RESPONDING. THE FIRST THING I DID WHEN I SAW THE 14 STAMPS FOR SALE ON E-BAY WAS TO CONTACT THE SELLER. UNFORTUNATELY, HE DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE STAMPS. HE ONLY ASSUMED THEY WERE AUSTRALIAN ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE PRE-DECIMAL.
THE OTHER THING I DID WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE REALLY DISAPPOINTING WAS, I SCANNED THE STAMPS INTO THE COMPUTER, THE COMPUTER THEN SCOURS THE ENTIRE INTERNET FOR IDENTICAL OR SIMILAR IMAGES. THE ONLY IDENTICAL IMAGE I GOT, WAS THE STAMPS FOR SALE ON E-BAY. SIMILAR STAMPS, SHOWED THE COUNTRY OF ISSUE AND THE REASON/FUND THAT THEY WERE ISSUED FOR.
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INPUT.
REGARDS,
ROB
The other place to contact would be the Cinderella club.

Hi Sheepshanks,
Thanks for the suggestion. I've sent them an e-mail since reading your post. I'll let you know what their response is.
Thanks,
Rob
Hi Sheepshanks,
Haven't received an e-mail from the Cinderella Club as yet. I had another look at their web site and the last calendar date on the site, was their 2018 program and the final date on that, was their AGM, scheduled for the 1st December, 2018. I think they may have shut up shop.
regards,
Rob
Ok so maybe this guy could answer your query, perhaps email him a scan.

Hi Sheepshanks,
I received the following e- mail from Derek Watson, General Secretary, Cinderella Club. ( Looks like they still exist) :
Hello Rob
Thank you for your recent email.
You have a number of designs of savings stamps, many of which are unknown to me. They are obviously pre-1971 and are examples of the printers' art.
You have examples with values of one and two shillings. '
I have a number of similar other values too.
I imagine that these were sample stamps from possibly more than one printer.
The way to sort them would be on their physical sizes, perforations and style. They are of interest to collectors like me.
I would imagine a value either of £5 each or £50 the collection.
Best wishes
Derek Weston
I would still like to find out more, but that may never happen
Regards,
Rob
Rob, at least you have a sort of answer, not sure they are as valuable as stated but guess it depends on the buyer. The Ebay ones did not sell and have been relisted.
Hi Horamakhet,
Thanks for your help. It's a pitty mine don't have a country printed on it. It would make it a lot easier.
Rob.
Hi Sheepshanks,
I sent an e-mail to I. B. Redguy as you suggested. I'll let you know what he says.
Regards,
Rob
No reply from I. B. Redguy as at 13/3/2021. I have now sent a second e-mail.
Can anyone identify these savings stamps please ?
THANKS GUYS. I ASKED THE GUY ON E-BAY BUT HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM I'VE TRIED LOOKING THROUGH BOTH AUSTRALIAN AND BRITISH EMPIRE STAMPS BUT CAN'T FIND ANYTHING.
I ALSO TRIED SCANNING THE INTERNET USING THE PICTURES OF THE STAMPS AND I STILL COULDN'T FIND ANY THING. I AGREE I DON'T THINK THEIR AUSTRALIAN UNLESS OF COURSE THEY USED THE SQUIRREL IMAGE TO REPRESENT SAVING. I'M WONDERING IF THEY WERE ISSUED BY A PRIVATE COMPANY IN ORDER TO SAVE FOR THEIR SERVICES OR POSSIBLY A BANKING INSTITUTION. WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT FOR SURE. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR EFFORTS. GREATLY APPRECIATED.
