Look at the Stanley Gibbons Windsor Album for GB... they look nice.

David and all,
That is such an obvious consideration I have no idea why I didn't look there first. There are a lot of advantages since it follows the SG Concise Catalog, which I use. A bit pricey to order directly from SG. Didn't Amos make a deal with SG to distribute some of their products in the US/NA?
Unitrade are distributors for SG. Windsor is pricey!

There are just too many stamps I could buy and add to my collection for the price of a volume of any of the albums with mounts. Maybe I will buy mounts and heavier pages an reprint Steiner pages one by one - that will keep me busy.
I have picked up some Windsor albums , some with pages, others not. My problem now is finding matching blank pages with the appropriate width to fit the binders. 9 7/8" is ideal to allow for the area held in the spine. The useable space is 9 x 6 1/2" its the extra for the spine that's the problem. Any sources ?
EvertonDave:
I see that Windsor blank album pages are 248mm x 283mm (9.75" x 11.5").
http://www.armstrongsstamps.ca/supplies. ... sells Windsor blank album leaves package of 25 = $25.00 (that might be Canadian dollars).
Scott National album pages are (10" x 11.5") (20 pages for US$9.95). They have a single line border and are 80# card stock, but a light manila color.

I would suggest buying Astrodesigns cream cardstock 12x12 and trimming to the desired dimensions. Acid and lignin free.

Many thanks for the links. If I get the pages I am faced with the problem of finding a printer that will take that size paper. Not to mention the creation of the spaces to display the stamps in on the new pages. I'd love to be able to reformat the great pages created by Robin Harris at Adminware, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks again
You can reformat the pages using free software called pdfcropmargins. Here is an example of machin-novicesample.pdf from Robin Harris converted to Windsor page format.

"I am getting more serious with my British collection and would like to move from my hinged Steiner album to an unhinged album, pre-decimal. "
"If I get the pages I am faced with the problem of finding a printer that will take that size paper." I got a Canon IP8720 which takes up to 13 x 19. I got paper from the local printer and had them cut it to size. Many choices of weight and color. Use Adminware for Machins and Stiener for commemoratives. Add pages for 1st day cover or booklets using Pages on a Mac Mini. Works for me.

A few years ago I moved my GB collection over to the hingeless Lighthouse GB country albums. While the albums are not cheap, they are beautiful and comprehensive enough to have a home for everything I come across. I have no regrets with buying the Lighthouse albums and wish I had done so many years ago! I moved my Canadian collection over to the Lighthouse albums as well since I was so impressed with them.
Good luck with your decision.
