I have looked through the Scott catalogue and the Stampworld listings and cannot for the life of me find this.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave.

re: Germany 1990 - Got Me Stumped!

This is one of the last stamps from East Germany, issued shortly before reunification.

The last few issues just said "DEUTSCHE POST" rather than "DDR".

It is the highest value of a serie of 4 stamps issued at august 28th 1990.

And if I am not wrong
Postage stamps issued from July 2, 1990 by Deutsche Post were also valid in the Federal Republic of Germany and West Berlin until December 31, 1990.

Now there would be a challenge. A mint set. Three postally used sets showing a cancel of the three jurisdictions, DDR, West Berlin and West Germany. Maybe four sets, splitting DDR into East B
erlin by cancel and somewhere else in the DDR itself. I am not planning on deep pursuit, but I will keep a weather eye out for some examples.

re: Germany 1990 - Got Me Stumped!

Thanks for the great feedback. I had looked at Berlin but not DDR (no idea why!)

I found a couple more stamps with “Deutsche Post” rather than “Deutsche Bundepost” so now I know where to find them!

Many thanks, Dave

That is the fun of collection stamps..............

By the way : the other way around too :

From July 1, 1990, the issues of the Deutsche Bundespost and Deutsche Bundespost Berlin were also valid in the German Democratic Republic.
