My first thought was great that is a high number for Stamporama and more choice for the members.
BUT IS IT?
I noticed that the Topicals section has 1765 items for auction. When I looked into the topicals section I was disappointed to notice that a lot of the items did not have in their title what the topic was and were just duplicates of items listed in their respective countries. It must be a nightmare for Topical collectors when they are looking for their favourite Topic.
It looks like there are NOT 6893 items in the auction but at least a 1000 less!
As a Seller am I missing a trick to get my items "noticed" by NOT lumping everything into the Topicals section as well as the individual countries?

Ian, in Hipstamp, every listed item gets somehow listed under its country AND also in topical. technically speaking every stamp is thus a topical stamp. I wonder if we may see a bit of this here. I agree with you that it probably a nightmare. It is a terrible way to treat topical collectors, in a club.

Folks can list in topical, when appropriate. There's no requirement to do so.
I have found HipStamp difficult to use when actually trying to find things.
and, Ian, totals are discrete listings; putting a stamp in multiple categories doesn't increase the totals.

The quote is from todays category list.
My question is simple:-
If I put a stamp in the USA category and at the same time put it into the topical category,
Is 1 added to the category total or 2 added to the category total?
My interpretation using the above quote would be 2.

Ian, you are correct, it is confusing, however a quick test provides a definitive answer.
Here is a snapshot of the current auction categories page:
The sum of the numbers listed is actually 7662, not 6995. So the total of 6995 represents unique auction lots, not the sum of the category totals.
