Need help in classifying/valuing this slightly damaged GB Revenue. The stamp closely resembles Scott's #88 issued in 1881, but omits groundwork and "Postage."Image Not Found I suspect it was issued in close proximity to that year?

re: Great Britain Revenue Identification

Hi,

This style of British revenue was used for many years with changes in watermark and different dies with small changes in the design.

They were in use until the end of the nineteenth century and a huge number were printed.

* 1867 - watermark small anchor - this has a shaded background and no corner ornaments.

* 1868/1876/1877/1878 - watermark small anchor - unshaded background and small corner ornaments.

There are four dies of this stamp with small changes in the corner ornaments and the shading on the chin and throat.

* 1881 - watermark orb - same design as the previous issue but die 4 only.
