It looks like the issues from 1876-1908 but all the 10 pfennig values were issued in different shades of red. The only 10 pfennig values of a grey colour were overprinted postage dues. As it is imperforate it could be a cut out from a pre-paid envelope or card.
Issue for Bavaria pre 1876 were in Kreuzer and Gulden values.
Good thought.
From https://www.stamp-collecting-world.com/bavarianstamps_armsb.html: "Bavarian stamps that may appear to be imperforate Embossed Arms Types on thick paper, with posthorns at the top instead of numerals, are actually cut-outs from contemporary Bavarian postal stationery. They generally follow the types and colors of the regular postage stamps, but the designs are impressed into stamped envelopes and postal cards." Oddly, this 10pf has numerals in all four corners.
Also, the few online images I could find for 10pf stationery show red colours only.
I think this can only be resolved by consulting a full postal stationery catalogue for Bavaria.
Can anyone help me to identify this Bavarian stamp, please? A Scott No. would be very helpful. Many thanks.
Hugh
