That's interesting, and very attractive! One could develop a unique collection of such stamps, altered intentionally or accidentally.
Here's the only one I have in my collection; when I found it, I thought I might have discovered a unique variety. Instead, it seems to have been altered by some sort of chemical, probably not intentionally:

I am still trying to post a better picture. I have one that is much clearer taken with my microscope, but the upload is to large. If this was done by some professional, then he/she is really good. The microscope image is very clear and appears to be printed with the colors as shown. Will keep trying to post a clearer pic.
Edit to add. When trying to upload the new picture, it tells me, The uploaded file exceeds the MAX_FILE_SIZE directive that was specified in the HTML form, which is 850,000 bites."
Not being a computer/scanner expert, I have no idea what that means. If some one can help, I would appreciate any help.
For scans that I upload to the message board I usually scan at 600 dpi and save the scan to a file. Then I go to the file and before opening it I right click on the file. A drop down box appears with diferent options on what to do with the file. I click on "resize" and have the option on how small or large I want to resize my picture. I usually choose the "medium" size option which is usually small enough to post here. I hope this helps you.

For me this stamp is a fake, nice idea!!
lerivage, why do you think the stamp is fake?
To me it's a real stamp that someone painted!
I had a small handful of handmade FDCs between two little girls in Australia and Canada from back in the early 30s.
Apart from their colorful self-made cachets there was at least one where the stamp was also colored similarly.
I suspect yours might also have been the work of an artistic little kid.
1898: I think I misexplained. The stamp is genuine (Y&T 132) and it is painted over, hence the fake. Michel
To me, it's not really a fake, rather a creative artistic addition!! Would we call the Mona Lisa a fake because it was painted over a previous painting? It was, by the way, but you never hear someone suggesting it should be taken back to the "original".
Vince,
Yes I have tried. Sorry I did not get back to you. Have been busy with family. Finally figured out how to scan at 600 dpi. I normally do as you suggested regarding the resize, etc., but did not appear to make the scan any better. Below is the scan. Not sure it is any clearer. Not near as good as my microscope picture which I am still trying to figure out how to get posted.
Edit to Add: Try the image below. My other images I tried to load were bmp and would not load. The following is jpg.
Another one I cannont find. Appears to be France, Scott design A20 Sower, but cannot find with color as shown. If someone colored the stamp they did a really neat job. Nothing shows on the back and the postmark appears to be over all the colored parts.
