The Latvia overprint is listed under occupations stamps at the end of Latvia. This one is 1N19.

The first one is Scott #203, the second is Kuban Cossack Government issues of 1918 - 20 #36. That type of stuff is what my Minkus album considers to be BOB. Some of it is very odd and difficult to find. The best place to buy it is here since it is almost always overpriced and badly identified on E-Bay. I think most sellers there think that unusual means expensive!

There is no better place like SOR to get such a fast and precise response!
Thanks, Virgil

In my Minkus BOB the section on Kuban Cossack Government morphs directly into South Russia with the numbers continuing. They must somehow be the same thing! Another mystery of this very unusual area!! I think!!
This strange area in Minkus seems to go from Don Cossack to Kuban Cossack to South Russia to General Wrangle. I almost took a course in university in Russian history but the reading list was so long that I wouldn't have been able to work on my Physics/Math major as well. I've sort of regretted not giving it a go. I've always had a real interest in history. I remember one year when I was a kid all the other kids got toys and I got a set of history books. I remember being really into Russian history and the history of India as well. All kinds of blood and gore (not the Gore we have on our stamp site). I think that's one reason I started collecting Russia. I must sound like a real "gold plated nerd"! Happy

It is possibly someone who likes to put together a puzzle knowing some of the pieces are missing.
