Thank you for the interesting pictures. I have seen these and other Hitler related overprints offered on Ebay many a time, and frankly the site is awash with them. It is so easy for anyone with a decent printer to produce their 'own' overprints. As a general rule I would not purchase any expensive overprint unless it was expertised. There are to many fakes out there.

The problem is that so much of this type of stuff is totally fake or bogus. They are made for unsuspecting collectors of Third Reich material. It is a good idea to get the Michel German Specialized Catalogues if you want to only collect genuine items.
These are such obvious fakes... like it has already been said earlier in this thread, anyone with a decent printer can create these and that's what is done. In this case the source of the city arms pictures is the well known series of collector's albums issued by the coffee brand Kaffee Hag between 1914 and 1939. With each bag of coffee, one received a seal that could be glued in the album that could be bought. It was a very popular pastime in the day.
In the Netherlands there were many similar books, issued by coffee brands, biscuit makers etc.
Here is a page from one of the Kaffee Hag books.
And here is the seal for your last entry, the city of Lehesten in Thuringia. Note that even the ornaments before and after the city name are the same. Also the use of the Fraktur font is proof that the origin of the pictures is pre WW2 and would be frowned upon after the war.
I think it would be wise to not give any attention to stamps like these, because as Michael said, they are only made to exploit unsuspecting and less informed collectors of Third Reich material. Showing them here would only serve to give credibility to these fabrications because people will search for them in Google - and find them here. Most will not read the caveat and think they are authentic.
Jan-Simon
By the way, the fact that exactly the same image was used, but scaled to fit on the stamp, plus the omission of the the additional text between city name and coat of arms proves to me that this is a modern cut and paste job using a scanner and something like Photoshop.
Thank you HockeyNut for the the hard work in scanning and posting these pictures of the overprinted German stamps. I don't myself mind seeing them here in the forum.. I am sure in the very least it has brought some awareness and their dubious origins.

Yes, you did indeed write that. I overlooked that at first in this very, very long thread.
You're welcome as far as the research is concerned. I always like playing Sherlock
I was once again browsing through my stamp literature and came across something about the overprints of the Hitler head editions.
And in particular the prints with heraldic symbols of East German cities.
I can't find a decent story about it anywhere.
Now I thought it would be nice to show examples of those heraldic prints here on the forum.
I have only placed one stamp at a time as an example so that I can place them in a larger format.
I know that the stamps were all "made" after the 2nd world war and are actually worth nothing.
Yet I see traders on e-bay who ask a lot of money for it.
So take a look at them.
Additions and information are desired.......
