My own feeling is that you are going to limit your customer base by excluding Volume 1.
Others please comment - maybe I am the only one who feels that way.
Also any comments on whether or not to ship book rate - my postmaster inspects random boxes in and out and has a very strict interpretation of "advertising". If it had to be upgraded the costs would be staggering.
At a guess I would say that the biggest problem to selling them over the internet is going to be postal costs, unless the buyer is local and can pick-up or be delivered to.
My initial thoughts are that a local stamp club would be a better route, but maybe some one else can offer a better solution.
Donate them and take the tax write-off.
Your local library may have a used book store.
There may be a stamp club in your area.
Goodwill is NOT a viable option, but other options abound.
I recently sold a complete set of 2018 Scott. I looked at ebay sold prices and it looked like the set was going in the $150-200 range. IIRC, I offered it on Stamporama for $150 with no interest, but then listed on ebay and got $165 plus shipping for them. So I personally think you should look at ebay sold items for each volume (I'm seeing $15-20 each) for an estimate of fair market value, then decided if it is worth it to sell the volumes individually as you might have to box and ship them individually.

If there is a local stamp club, you could try to sell there so to avoid shipping costs.
I'm sitting on some Scott Cats. myself. Nice way to use up lots of
discounted postage if the buy pays the shipping. Book rate is about $10
for the A & B vol. I think the pair last year for about $35. And I got to use
up $10 worth of my postage. If you are in a large city, your postal folks
probably don't have the time to be picky with "price guides" vs real books
so I wouldn't worry about that. After all, they are reference books
as Scott doesn't sell stamps anymore.
But the hassle of packing, scanning the covers, driving to the PO makes
giving them away an easier method of clearing bookshelf space.
I'm always looking for ways to use up my 12 cent face plateblocks.
I pay my bills via check and use real stamps at 66 cents.
How large can an envelope be before it costs more than 66 cents?
Maybe I could reuse the 6x9 lightweight envelopes to pay my credit card bills?
I could fit more stamps on the larger package.
Anyway, good luck.

Hello Friends,
I have never sold anything ,yet, on SOR. I paid my extra fee and can now do so. But what I first need are tips and such so as not to confuse a buyer, or whatever.
What I have is a set of Scott 2020 catalogs, vols 2 thru 12. I am not selling vol 1, but the other eleven. They weigh in at 4 to 4 1/2 pounds each. These 11 are seldom (if ever) used library copies. I know I'm up against amazon. I guess they could start at 10 or 12 dollars. Also wording, pictures.
So if you can offer some advice, thank you,
Scott (sgammon)
