Not sure if this is the same type of album or not, but I have Minkus Albums for Russia and Poland and have been told (not sure when or by who) that they used their own numbering system.
Yes, they are the numbers from the Minkus Catalog
Last published in the 1980s (I think).
The 1970s Minkus Worldwide catalogues are a hot item on ebay, going for upwards of $50, but regional catalogues are cheaper. I have a 1972 Russia (plus Czech, Hungary/ Poland / Romania ) catalog on my shelf for ocassional reference.

Thanks guys for the info. Not really a WW collector, but have tons of WW stamps and 8 volumes of the Minkus Master Global albums. Just sorting and hinging while staying out of the heat.

@everyone
Minkus when they were in business published a U.S. Stamp Guide, which in some ways better, and not other ways not better than the Scott Cat. They used wonderful line drawing for the different Wash/Frank heads stamps 1908-1921 which in my view the best ever made.
1898
I also have Minkus Supreme Global albums thru about 1963. I had obtained a set of their New World-wide Catalogs: Vol1 Part 1 is Great Britain & Colonies, Vol1 Part 2 is Independent Africa & Asia, Vol1 Part 3 is Latin America, Vol2 Part 1 is Europe & Colonies (A-Hungary) and Vol2 part 2 is Europe & Colonies (Iceland-Yugoslavia). In some of my idle hours, I have been rendering these tomes into PDF format. So far, I have completed Vol 1 and I am about halfway through Vol2 Part 1. I suppose if someone were interested, They could compare these catalogs with Scott to create a cross-reference listing. Still searching for the latest copy of US (2004, I think) and the Canada-UN (2002, I think). But it is true, they are listed for unrealistic prices. I find the descriptive information in Minkus catalogs much superior to that of Scott. I also appreciate the fact that Minkus lists Airmail, Semi-postal and Official stamps chronologically along with Regular issues. I design my own computer printed album pages and much prefer the chronological arrangement.
About 30 years ago (how time flies) i purchased two Minkus Supreme Global Albums to 1959 with a good amount of stamps at a flea market for $60 I guess i could have dickered but i was satisfied to pay the $60. I purchased them for the stamps within to add to my Scott International albums. So the two 1959 Minkus albums covered the world from day one to 1959. I started buying second hand Scott Internationals and really was not familiar with the Minkus albums. I can attest that the Minkus binders hold up a lot better than the Big Blues..they seem indestructible .I am still pulling stamps from them from time to time.
Probably been asked before, but cannot find.
What catalogue numbers are used in subject albums? Also, is there a comparison with Scott numbers any place?
