According to my 1992 Walburn Precancel catalog, the answer to your question is "No", at least for post-1949 Canada issues. I have nothing on Newfoundland issues but I have never knowingly seen one.
Here is the cover of the catalog and the table of contents, showing all the town specific listings he lists:
Roy
Thanks Roy, that list is greatly appreciated. I wanted one from each province and territory. It looks like nothing from any of the territories and nothing from Newfoundland or P.E.I. That actually means I only have 8 to look for in total and I already have Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan - only four to go!
Just for a bit of fun I bid on this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/275986593673
There are towns in four states called Newfoundland - Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New Jersey and Kentucky. To me this looks sort of like PA, does anyone else see it that way?
Just got this in the mail this morning - a Newfoundland precancel!! Who said they don't exist? Of course I had to put it in my US book since it's Newfoundland Kentucky! A fairly cheap joke at $0.99 plus postage!

To get this link to work I had to perform a "comma removal"!
I am fairly sure that it is Newfoundland, Massachusetts although the state part of the precancel is a bit blotchy. Once you have the item you can verify for sure with better lighting than the photograph has and a magnifying glass.
I have the item and it is darn near impossible to read. The seller thought it was Ma for Maine, but honestly it is so poorly done that you can see almost anything there that you decide to look for. What I did was Google "towns in the United States called Newfoundland" and picked one. I was thinking I saw part of a K and part of an N. I didn't even know there was a Newfoundland in Massachusetts, or Maine either! To be honest, all I really care about is the Newfoundland but maybe if I take it outside on a sunny day it might show better. I'll also be visiting my stamp dealer on a road trip soon and he has a bunch of better gear than I do.
There are four cities named Newfoundland in the United States:
Newfoundland, Pennsylvania - PA
Newfoundland, North Carolina - NC
Newfoundland, New Jersey - NJ
Newfoundland, Kentucky -KY
Since the 'A' is quite obvious, your precancel is probably Pennsylvania.
But, happy searching on your adventure to locate precancels for the other three :-)
My local stamp dealer just got in touch with me. He has a three ring binder and two stock books with over 3000 US precancel stamps all sorted by state and stamp. The price is very reasonable and it'll probably finish off my 50 states. I wonder what kind of treasures from small towns are hidden in there. If anyone is a serious precancel collector and is looking for a certain town, state or stamp wait a couple weeks and get in touch. Ian was afraid I might get caught up in this and I'm afraid he might be right!! You never know, I might find more Newfoundland US cancels!
You might be interested in 'St. Johns' precancels from the United States as well. There are two cities in the United States named St. Johns. One in Arizona (AZ) and one in Michigan (MI). This is one from Michigan:
"That actually means I only have 8 to look for in total"
I have a growing accumulation of Canadian precancels that will someday be put into an ordered collection. I've bought the Canada precancel catalog and even found an album. Unfortunately, the album is based on the Noble catalog which stopped publishing back in the 70's. I found one on eBay and bought it, but comparing it to the newer catalog, the translation is near impossible. I think I'll eventually wind up creating my own pages.

Actually the Unitrade gives so much information on Precancels, unless you really get deeply into the topic, a special book isn't necessary. They show pictures of all the different types in the front of the book and in the stamp section they tell you which stamps have precancels and also how many exist. For what I intend to do I don't think a special book is needed.
I've been looking around and have not run into any Newfoundland precancels or even any post 1949 Canada stamps precancelled with a Newfoundland town or city name, not even St. John's! Does anyone know if they exist?
Note (off topic): I did track down the UN precancel for UN #2 at a very fair price. I think that's the only UN precancel!
EDIT: I am not counting Newfoundland Maine!!! I know this town exists because I have seen a precancel for it but I can't find any information on it on line!!
