Another connected question. I have a couple coils with leaders attached and Unitrade seems to ignore them unless that's what they mean when they give prices for a "beginning strip of 4" or an "ending strip of 4". If by this they mean strips of four with leader I can't really understand why the leader has to be attached to 4 coils before they will price it! I think having the leader adds to the interest of the coil. Does anyone else look for coils with leaders attached?
The Unitrade Canada catalog discusses two types of pasted up strips (ways of joining coils together to make a longer strip) without showing explanations. The "paste up strip" seems to be where the leader of one set of coil stamps is pasted to the back of the strip of coils to be joined to it. This seems to happen with older coils which have a leader which is really the edge of the sheet of stamps that is being used to form the strip of coils. Then there is a "repaired paste up strip" which seems to occur with newer coils. A separate piece of paper is glued to the back of two coils to make a longer strip. I am going to steal a few pictures from posts by Dennis that he sold lately to try to show this. Hopefully he won't mind!! It might be hard to see what's going on on the backs but I hope it shows up OK! Does anyone know if what I'm saying about the two types of paste up strips is correct or am I out to lunch?
