i had a partial booklet of the A series stamps and it states the the A stamp takes the place of a first class stamp, so i put one on a envelope addressed to myself . Well i received the letter but no cancel on the stamp that i was hoping for..

The A stamp does NOT pay the first class rate. It has a value of 15-cents.
