Well said, Ernie -
The Hammer will forever be the king of the long ball.
Ernie,
Thanks for the post. I stopped collecting US, but plan to get a sheet from the PO. I would not have known about it if not for you.
@Randy, good to see you on the DB. Go Braves!
@Dennis, thank you Friend!
To Wisconsin fans, having Henry in an Atlanta uniform on both the stamp and the selvage is disappointing.

As much as is made of the home run record, he once said he was more proud of his other record toppers: plate appearances, total bases, extra-base hits and, of course, RBIs.
Love the Milwaukee cap!

I grew up listening to Braves games and Orioles games on the radio while doing stamps in the evening. That minor league park in downtown Jax is an awesome facility, right near the stadium if anyone gets a chance to visit during the season.
Got a bit of shocking news yesterday as Pete Rose passed away. Irrespective of his gambling habit, there were very few players his equal. Where Tampa Stadium sits today was where Redsland stood, Cincinnati's spring training facility. Lot's of memories going over to watch the big red machine!
Sad day, indeed.
Loved the team and Pete.
Cincinnati stadium has a wonderful museum out front with lots of great Reds history.
Well worth the trip.
Eau Claire, Wisconsin, also has some Aaron history. When he played there in the minors, he lived with a local white family -- a culture shock for both sides! Henry said he enjoyed his time in the town and returned for the dedication of a statue of him at the stadium, Carson Park. Today it's used by college and semi-pro teams. Photo credit: Royalbroil.

@ earwaves. That's really neat. So many of the places that Hank Aaron touched on his journey have honored him in some way or another... I think that says something about the man.

Strolled into my local post office and saw these out today. I had to have a sheet! What a great looking stamp. He showed patience and grace on and off the field. He will ALWAYS be the Home Run King because he did it without PED. No asterisk needed for this man, a true American hero AND he will forever be an Atlanta Brave!
