I've been eyeing this cover for a while, but hesitate because the price is very high: $500. Is there a catalog or something from which this seller derived this price? I admit it must be quite rare, as I've not seen another like it, but is it worth the price he's asking?

re: How to Value

I would suggest you search for "1929 fancy cancels" with Google or your own favorite search engine - it will open up many pages of reference materials you can look through.

For an instant peak at rough pricing from 2019 or early 2020 go to:

Henry, that's a great resource; thanks

Allen, interesting cover, for sure, but the prices realized on Henry's source indicate it's likely overpriced by a factor of 5. Maybe someone has some history on these submarine cancels that would help us understand whether that's a realistic or just hopeful pricing

re: How to Value

I think that those are race car cancels and the cover commemorates that year’s Indianapolis 500. I really like the C-11 too. There is probably a lot more out there so 500.00 is ridiculous. But it is worth a solid 5-10.00. Maybe as high as 50.

re: How to Value

joesm, I agree it's an Indy 500 cover and the cancels are race cars. Based on similar cancels in the resources everyone's provided and the Google searches, I think it must be way overpriced. AT this point, I'll wait and see what else comes along.
