Can anyone tell me why these full sheets are roller cancelled?

Was this a way for the USPS to ditch stamps out of their inventory?

Are these collectable, if so in what price range.

Full sheets with original gum!

They might have been used to pay for Business Reply Mail. Business Reply Mail is free for the sender, but the business still has to pay the postage in order to collect their mail.

That would be my guess, as well. As to value, they are a part of the mail delivery system, n surely some folks would like to have them…. Whether theyd spend money, who knows. I wouldnt count on any premium, though

I've taken large, roller cancelled blocks off cardboard. It would be an easy way to cancel stamps on parcels. I have a full sheet on a cardboard piece of a parcel, albeit not roller cancelled, that I've got to figure out how to get off intact. Or, I might leave it on the cardboard.

I read somewhere that Mystic stamps obtained stamps this way when paying for philatelic services.
