While I appreciate this is a free publication, it really is a total pain to try and read. Having to scroll up and down, increase size on every page and then move the page around just to read an article. Has the world forgotten how to write across a page. It is as bad as the SG digital Concise and seems to follow the same "Paperlite" (not sure if that was the correct name) system.
Would have been so much better as a Pdf or even a single page view. I gave up after the first couple of pages.
I'm sure others will disagree.
I'd like to help you out. How are you accessing the magazine?
Scott
I'm viewing on my laptop.
Edit. I appreciate I can download as a pdf, but it's still in columns, although I only have to scroll vertically. But downloads take space and use download allowance, which in rural areas can be costly.

The viewer is Issuu. The first two suggestions I have are to adjust the size with the slider (circled in red) or fullscreen (circled in blue).
The browser is responsive, I can read it on my tablet, phone, or web browser. But I'd like to make sure you have an enjoyable experience, too.
Scott
Thanks Scott, I was doing that but still having to drag the screen around and it seemed the page reverted back in size when the advance arrow was used.
Because it is in columns you then have to scroll down as you read and then you have to scroll up to the start of the next column. Much simpler to write across the line with any images above or below.
One last question: what browser do you use?
This statement was included in the message with the latest edition of StampEd:
“Looking forward to the second year, there are some changes afoot, based on our experiences this last year. What we found is that our current format (which is laid out as if it were a print magazine and published in PDF flipbook format) can be clunky to read on different devices, and doesn’t lend itself to building an engaged audience due to its infrequent publication schedule. Why stay tied to a format that isn’t working? In our second year, we are modeling StampEd on other online-only magazines and news sources, with individual articles coming out much more frequently. Other than the format, we’ll be publishing the same kind of articles and columns that you enjoyed in year one, with even more flexibility to try new things.”
Not sure if that will help or not…
Use Firefox as main browser, although I have Google and Edge, not tried it on either of those.
I'm going to share our discussion with the technical team for suggestions.
With the publication of this issue of StampEd, we are transitioning the whole product to a customized Substack site that will shift away from a "physical" magazine layout to something that won't meet the same requirements.

My wife and I have subscriptions to The Guardian and read the newspaper on our desktop computers and iPads. No problem. Individual articles are dead easy to read (although the content should sometimes be flagged “Dangerous to any optimism you might still have!”).
We can see entire newspaper pages at one time to see the headlines, then click on any photo or story to instantly get a full-screen version. Far easier to read than StampEd, but harder on my optimism.

I read it on my 10 inch tablet and it was not an issue to read. I would not try it on a phone. The best size for printed and on tablet is the Topical Time size.
I enjoyed the magazine. Thanks.
I did send Susanna an email in regards to the album page article that could have mentioned Steiner pages and AlbumEasy options.

The latest issue issue is now available. It is free to all.
