Sounds like BS. I don't like working with folks like that. Had a reputable tree services company (two large, late model very expensive trucks) try to change the price on me twice after we agreed upon a total cost and shook hands on it. I finally told them to forget it. The first sign of shadiness and I'm out.
Yeah, I know what you mean!
A tree company was saying XXX for our Palm Trees, and when he was done he goes oh, XXXX.
We made sure we only paid the first offered amount.
I wrote to him, and he write back.
All casually, like this.
Oh, yeah...
We used to do that but eBay policy JUST changed!?
It never did change to begin with, I know as I have sold on eBay before.
I just bought another cheap item from him, but under a separate account.
I'll post back what happens!

I was blocked from future bidding by an Ebay Seller, I had contacter the seller informing that an item was incorrectly identified by the seller, then I was blocked, doesn't seem fair to me. The Ebay seller corrected the error, good for the Ebay seller, but now I'm blocked from bidding on any lot for this Ebay seller.
I understand Ebay sellers can and do block bidders.
I am not a seller, and can't navigate eBay to find their official rules, but I found this with Google.
Perhaps this is their motivation. (I buy a lot from Dr Who also, just not in the past 30 days)
This is all very confusing to me.
He says they repealed it though?
I just don't understand the positive feedback bit.
I would get it if it was about delivery confim, but a positive feedabck is not even listed on your search.
I also cannot really find an eBay rulebook.
Hopefully they will stop sending these out now.
They just feel a tad agressive, right?
-Ari
The way I read their message in light of my first post, is that eBay is now holding the payments to them (Dr Who and all sellers) until the buyer has acknowledged via Feedback that the untracked purchase has been received. For tracked purchases, the track acknowledges the receipt.
When the buyer provides prompt feedback, they will get paid quicker. If the buyer does not provide feedback, then they have to wait the 14 days to get paid.
I can see Dr Who (and all sellers) wanting their buyers to give prompt feedback so they get their money faster, but it could have been said more tactfully.
This is my opinion, not necessarily "fact".
I agree, but I have other sellers, who ship untracked, such as NYStamps or CKStamps on eBay.
Both large sellers, and they do not send me this message.
I agree, it could have been said politer.
According to them, eBay removed this?
-Ari
I received the same notice in my last order. I didn't take it personally. I do purchase 20 or more items a month from DR Who. I never had a problem with any of my orders. I have gotten away from leaving feedback lately. I'll just make sure to leave feedback, if that is what they want.
Yes, it is just odd.
I am not taking it personally, just kind of wondering what is going on, thought it seems whatever eBay's policy is, it will probably affect a few sellers.
I haven't followed this closely, but I was under the impression that the new policy of payment only at the earlier of feedback or 14 days was for UK ebay, and not US? Dunno.
Either way, a high volume seller might feel that anyone who takes up more than one minute of time is a drag on profits and ripe for blocking. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not cut out to be a million-item seller, either.

Just bought this amazing Newfoundland cover from Dr. Who (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/156758217314). Actually I've picked up a few wonderful pieces from Dr. Who in the last couple months! The cover was to Montgomery Ward in Chicago from a very well known family in that part of Newfoundland. The Bartlett's are a very famous Newfoundland family because of a well known explorer, Capt. Bob Bartlett. I'm pretty sure that George Bartlett was a relative, time for some serious research!! That's the fun part of philately, you never know where it will lead you!
Joe, that is a very nice cover!
I'm not going to stop my purchases from them.
I am more wondering if other sellers will be doing this soon, too.
Thanks!
-Ari
Vince,
That is a much better one.
Something I would enclose if I was a big corp., dealing with eBay terms.
I wonder if they changed it.
Maybe, they got complaints?
-Ari
There was probably a few complaints that brought about a change.
Most dealers usually send a nice note, “I left you positive feedback please do the same.”

I may be a bit odd, but to me it seems like "good manners" to leave feedback! And I expect the seller to do the same!! There is one local seller that I no longer buy from because she refuses to leave feedback after I do. I've said this before and at least one seller here who also sells on E-Bay said that he doesn't leave feedback to his customers - it's too much of a bother!! Didn't your mother (or father) tell you it was good manners to say please and thank you? Again this is only my humble opinion!
Harvey,
That is something I ALWAYS DO.
No matter the message.
It is always good to show your manners, and while I don't expect it, a buyer review is good too!
-Ari

I just recently bought 2 postcards from Dr. Who off of eBay.
They both arrived today in separate envelopes.
When I opened the first one I saw my postcard, and was suprised to see a weird, and robotic like message on a label-sticker.
It reads:
Thank you for your order!
Due to new eBay policies we can no longer receive payments on orders until positive feedback is left.
We can no longer accept orders from buyers who don't leave feedback.
Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for your help
Check out our website: drwhostamps.com (This is not a clickable link)
**MUST LEAVE FEEDBACK TO CONTINUE BUISNESS**
Wow!
I know a lot of you actually purchase from the often!
What is going on. Both separate envelopes had this new message.
I looked it up and eBay policy does NOT require a Five Star review to get funds.
A shady way to get reviews.
Now, I thought that this was it.
I was going to leave a bad reveiw, but then I saw this.
Somone left a negative review about an item, and they were displeased with it.
DrWhoStamps responded with BUYER BLOCKED!
How can you possibly block a buyer on eBay.
Another someone posted they said they did not like the item. They called them a scammer. eBay says, a verified purchase?
I do not think you can also prevent a sale, it is a contract, and they are legally obliged to fulfill it, right?
What is going on here.
Help me out with this guys!
