Not too many years ago I would receive 4 - 6 mailing from Cuba per month. Now, I haven't received a single one in over a year. These mailing used to be MNH Complete Sets, with a Souvenir Sheet, of Fish, Birds, etc., etc. What has happened?? I know about the embargo, or whatever you care to call it. When sending to Cuba, just call the country Havanna, or Carribean. Thank you.

re: CUBA - just wondering.

From what I can find online it seems Cuba has issued along a small handful of stamps since 2023 (no more than half a dozen). This seems to be a trend for other countries as well (especially in Latin America).

"'That's just it,' said the Hemulen in despair. 'It's finished. There isn't a stamp, or an error that I haven't collected. Not one. What shall I do now? ''Nature study!' declares the Hemulen. 'I shall botanize'. "

Well, honestly, Cubans have been reduced to such abject poverty nobody could afford a stamp. Most of the population is illiterate now as well. So sad.

Just looked up the 10 countries with the highest poverty rates on Colnect, and there is a similar pattern of stamps issued nosediving into single digits per year after 2022, with exception of the African countries that use philatelic agencies (and in many cases those numbers are dropping as well). Not surprising I guess.
