I suppose you mean the 1918 trident overprints that are distinguished after the place where the stamps were issued, like Kiyiv or Odessa, yekaterinoslav etc overprints? There used to be a very useful table in the Michel catalogue for Eastern Europe but it appears it had been moved to the Russia specialised catalogue.
I have used that to identify tridents from a large collection I bought many years ago with the intention to resell it again, which succeeded quite nicely. I was able to go on holiday from the profit I made on that collection. The best items in that collection were a number of the socalled Courier Field Post issues, which sold for obscene amounts!

Yup, that's the ones!!! I don't have the patience to do them, stamp collecting is fun for me and sorting these out is not my idea of fun!! But I'd really like to be able to mount them in my Minkus BOB if anyone wants to do the work for me - for a price, of course!!
will send you a PM
@Harvey
Let's, you might have one to determine the issues for pay.
You might have someone to mount them for pay.
I'll step up and offer for pay to look at them! (just kidding, no offense intended).

Got an offer already! It sure will be great to finally be able to deal with those stamps!!

I had a member here take me up on my offer for a very very reasonable price. He sorted through all the material, came up with what is shown below and I now have all of my Ukraine trident over prints sorted. Thanks Jan - Simon for an incredible job!! I really don't have the patience for this sort of thing any more!! If my wife were still living, with her librarian's brain there would have been no problem, with me even the thought of doing a few watermarks brings out a sweat!! We're all different, and that's a good thing!!

sounds like a fun job.
I've got a problem with machins...

Got the material back from JanSimon today and am putting it in my Minkus BOB. I'll post a picture when I get it the way I want it. Great job from JanSimon, finally most of my Ukraine trident overprints are sorted. I also have a section where they are done by stamp where there are several more but I want to leave this section alone! I bought it already done and someone had put a lot of time into it!

These are the Ukraine trident overprints from my collection. The fist part of a page represents the overprints overprinted to make them part of a Russian Civil war set. I know this is a very large file but there's some great stuff here!

The next two pages were part of a collection I bought many years ago showing these overprints with Scott's numbers. These overprints are not sorted by region and that's fine, I'm leaving them like that, at least for now! Sorry they are sideways!! They are right side up in my picture area but this site sometimes ignores this and seem to put them such that they fit better!

The next two pages are the overprints that JanSimon sorted into regions of Ukraine for me and are just mounted on the backs of two pages in my album! He did a fantastic job!!!

Does anyone know how to show the sideways image to an upright image?
Turned images, using Irfanview.

Thanks Vic, greatly appreciated!!

Just curious why right side up images are sometimes turned on their side when they are uploaded to here. Does anyone else have this problem? It's not a big problem since a sideways image is not usually hard to read. I'm still using Windows & which is probably part of the problem!
I have between 100 and 200 Russian stamps with the trident overprint for the Ukraine. They would fit in my Minkus album if I had the patience to sort them out. The Album sorts the trident overprint by area of Ukraine and different areas had slightly different versions of the overprint. Sometimes it's just a slightly different size of trident, sometimes a different colour, sometimes a slightly different trident and sometimes a combination of these. There are not covered in Scott's but they are in Stanley Gibbons. I do not have the patience to sort through these, if my wife were still alive she would jump at the chance to do this!! My regular local dealer does some work for me but will not attempt these. If there is a serious Russia collector out there who would be willing to do this for me please get in touch!!! I will offer you whatever hourly rate you deem fair plus you can keep any doubles that might be there. This is not a joke, I am serious! Please do not do this unless you really know what you are doing. You would either need the SG catalog or copies of the Minkus pages plus a great deal of patience. Is anyone interested??
