I like the reconstructed booklet panes, nice job. I appreciate the auction lot booklet pane references to provide additional detail as I had never seen them, probably since I never really looked for them due to my album filling approach to collecting.
My latest efforts with my Canada collection have concentrated on replacing some of the early stamps where I have used copies with mint copies. I suspect just replacing the 35 used stamps that I have with mint copies may provide for a lifetime of efforts not to mention the 19 missing stamps. Catalog numbers to replace include 4, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 44, 46, 47, 71, 72, 79, 82, 83, 84, 91, 92, 93, 94, and 95. And, of course, if one wanted to make this really challenging you could look for these as MNH copies. 

Best of luck Jerrel, that's quite a project you've taken on!! I pick up panes up to about 1990 and, ignoring the fact I cheated on the first two, I now only need 3 more 166a, 195a and 197d. I don't mind if they are used and that saved me quite a bit on 107c. I've finished a few collections and this one is getting close!! Good luck with yours!!!

For 1899 and any others who may not have seen a Canadian booklet pane:
Here is a modern Canadian booklet pane, Scott #947a, issued 1985. The booklet from which the booklet pane is removed is a piece of cardboard, folded in 2 in the middle, with the selvedge attached to the cardboard on the left and the 6 stamps on the right side, attached to the selvedge, but not attached to the cardboard backing. The stamps are designed to be detached from selvedge so they can be used on letters. In this instance, the stamps in the top row once detached and used will have perforations on the top, bottom, and either the left or the right side, with one straight edge on the opposite side. Collecting a reconstruction of a complete pane in this instance would involve locating six stamps, 4 of which would each have one straight edge and three edges with perforations, and 2 of which would each have two adjoining straight edges and two other edges with perforations.
For Harvey, it is good to see your fruitful efforts at reconstruction of a hard-to-find set of used singles, and especially with a couple of CDS postmarks. Nicely done!

Thanks very much for posting a picture of a Canada booklet/booklet pane - now all confusion is gone!! Thanks to a few members my collection is finished, except for the reconstructed first two. I have no intention of replacing those, the thousand + needed takes it outside the area of a fun collection. I was contacted yesterday by a member who has the last three I need. I bought the cheaper two and asked him to hold the last one for a couple weeks. I feels good to be able to close down a collection. I hesitate to call it complete since I decided not to bother with the tagged varieties but that's close enough for me. That stock book contains the booklet panes, McDonald's stamp packets (legendary creatures, dinosaurs, Canada's folktales - 2 of each) and the mini sheets (12) to about 1990. A nice book to look at!! Thanks to all who helped!

The Halifax cancel on the booklet stamp you show reminded me of a short article I wrote a number of years ago about the Halifax Disaster in 1917 and the Canada booklet issued in 2017 to mark that event. I have attached a jpg of my article.

Fist page of my booklet pane collection. The collection is what I call "complete" but a couple are still in the mail, one is reserved but not paid for and the first two are reconstructed, as shown!! The used 2 cent pane of 6 would be very expensive mint so used is fine!!

If anyone is trying to reconstruct the second booklet pane you can have my extra of the lower right corner stamp which is a bit harder to find. Just let me know! In catalogs BP singles are given an "s" code, for example 90bs.

Thanks Roy for explaining all that! My fault, I know that series as the Admirals because that's how it was always referred. Good thing I din't show my collection of the "Muftis". As to the series being slanted, sorry about that, if I show more pages I'll try to fix that! It's right-side-up in my pictures but quite often when I bring a picture into this area it seems to try to make it fit the space better - not sure why!!
EDIT: That's a great booklet you show in the "medallion" series. I have a few complete booklets, mostly in the later Elizabeth series. That one you have is very hard to find and quite pricey!!

Just got my last booklet pane from Roy Lingen to officially finish my collection of booklet panes to my 1990ish (last one is 1180b, the wildlife series) cut off, except for my cheat on the first two as shown earlier in this post. I have no intention of replacing those because of the price and there are some tagging varieties I am not interested in. I'll post a few more pages at a later date if anyone is interested. That stock book also contains miniature sheets complete to the same cutoff and the set of six McDonalds sets in original cellophane. A great book to look through!!!

Another interesting thing to reconstruct are stamps with a straight edge that are not from booklets.
I suspect these are from sheets that were printed without selvedge (i.e. just cut sheets). Can anyone confirm this?
Also, I think when the question was raised about a straight edge "all around" the OP didn't mean around the whole stamp (i.e. an imperf) he meant around the perimeter of the booklet. So a fair question about a straight edge on the left side (and also BL corner). As we saw in the examples of vertical vs horizontal booklet panes.

Ya, I have a couple straight-edge Admirals that don't show in the Canada Unitrade Catalog as being from booklets. And recently I got a batch of Canada War-Tax stamps (the early issues) that have straight edges and I can't imagine they were sold in booklets (also not listed as such in Unitrade).
I also considered, but then reconsidered, replicating the booklets with individual stamps (too much work for a lazy guy like me) - but know some folks like the idea and I think it's kinda cool. I set aside these for one of our members. I think some might also like to do the whole ring-around-the-rosie thing with the non-booklet straight-edge stamps too - you don't often see them so I think it would be a cool collecting sub-set.

If you check Van Dam's book on Canada Revenues quite a few of the early war tax stamps had booklet panes, some are very pricey though! The only BP I have is FWT8c and it's a cheapie!!
I really have an interest in booklet panes. I am trying to do a reconstruction of a War Savings booklet pane that includes FWS7 to FWS14. When it's finished I'll post a picture! The War Savings stamps were pasted in booklets by people using them. I am lucky enough to have one of the books with a few stamps in it, the books are fairly hard to find!

Here are pages 4 and 5 of my Canada booklet panes for anyone who is interested. This takes us to the end of The Kings. Next week I will show the first two pages of QEII and that's as far as I plan to go unless someone wants to see more. Once you get to the Centennial Series all H#@& breaks loose!!

They were fun to post and even more fun to collect! Once you get into the rest of the collection, if you want to be really complete, you have to worry about the phosphor tagging varieties as well. I decided not to go there so, even though I think of my collection as complete, it isn't really. But to me it's as complete as it's ever going to be!
I collect Canada booklet panes to about 1990. I'm missing 5 at this point even though I refused to get into the tagging varieties so I guess I'm never actually going to "complete". I also cheated on the first two which are both very expensive ($1000+) and did reconstructions instead. I consider, in my want list, that I have these two but I really don't and probably never will - this was more fun anyway!!!
EDIT: I also really like the Halifax SOTN cancel!! Also 5th stamp in top row is a nice train cancel!
