I collect Algerian stamps, which is challenging because I neither read nor speak a word of Arabic or Berber, Algeria's official languages. I was curious about Foudutimbre's request, so I googled Emir Abdelkader.
According to Wikipedia, Abdelkader was "…an Algerian religious and military leader who led a struggle against the French colonial invasion of Algiers in the early 19th century. As an Islamic scholar and Sufi who unexpectedly found himself leading a military campaign, he built up a collection of Algerian tribesmen that for many years successfully held out against one of the most advanced armies in Europe. His consistent regard for what would now be called human rights, especially as regards his Christian opponents, drew widespread admiration, and a crucial intervention to save the Christian community of Damascus from a massacre in 1860 brought honours and awards from around the world."
I don't have any Emir Abdelkader stamps in my collection. I'll have to correct that! Here's one of the Algerian stamps commemorating Abdelkader:

Emir Abdelkader is the founder of the modern Algerian state, and his career and knowledge will live on forever as a spiritual guide.
As far as possible I would be delighted if our collector friends from Iowa could post us some philatelic documents issued by the local post office as philatelic cancellations or any other possible documents here to enrich this section.

Hello,
I would like to get in touch with philatelists in El Kader, Iowa.
I am beginning to work on a theme on ‘Emir Abdelkader’ which is in its first stage and I would be pleased to exchange stamps and other philatelic documents relating to this subject. I also have a lot of other philatelic material that I can exchange too.
You can contact me via SOR message platform or directly at my email addresses mentioned on my member information.
Many thanks for help in advance
Foudutimbre
