I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

In my Scott Cat for Yemen following SC #96-97 there is a notation which reads. "In 1961 a souvenir sheet was issued containing a 4b gray and a 6b sepia in type A18 imperf. Black marginal inscription "YEMEN 1960." Repeated in Arabic. Size 103 X 85 mm. Value $50.

Problem is that illustration A18 in Scott is of Yemen Gate San'a and not A23 which is the illustration for Sc #96-97. I cannot find any additional information. My copy is imperf and measures 103 X 85 mm. Do I have the S/S mentioned or what? See below.

re: YEMEN UNKNOWN

This must be the one mentioned in Scott, just with the wrong illustration number listed. I can't find any evidence of a souvenir sheet that includes the Yemen Gate design A18.

"'That's just it,' said the Hemulen in despair. 'It's finished. There isn't a stamp, or an error that I haven't collected. Not one. What shall I do now? ''Nature study!' declares the Hemulen. 'I shall botanize'. "

This is part of the WRY 1960 World Refugee Year UN program (nice topical collection, if you are interested). This is the first multi nation UN funding program using stamps issued by a large number of countries.
It is in Scott as #97footnote. Cat value ~ $35
