The Forth Bridge stamp could be a "double impression" of the words Forth etc BUT the Left hand Tower of the road bridge doesn't appear to be or the Queens Head. The colours used for printing this stamp are Blue Red and Black. There is no mention of a "Double Impression" for this stamp in Gibbons Queen Elizabeth II Pre Decimal Catalogue 4th Edition.
The Second stamp has probably been rubbed with a chemical to remove the Queens Head and the value. If you look at the back of the stamp you will probably see the impression of the Queens Head. If that impression is there than it is a deliberate application of a chemical. (You can actually see on the stamp where the Queens Head and the 4d should be)
Hi Team
I think the 6d Sg660 Forth Bridge is listed somewhere with doubled print but are used copies ever found?
As for the 4d Sg771. Omg I have no idea what's happening, The stamp seems to be missing black and gold. The hands and face look relatively normal and the postmark looks applied over the apparent colour change.
Any ideas please?
Richard
