



Otto Liliethal was an early aviation pioneer in Germany who built and flew gliders similar to those built by the Wright Brothers. He wasn't as fortunately as the Wrights: He was killed when his glider stalled and plunged to the ground from a low but fatal altitude. The Wright's early experiments in flight were much like Lilienthal's.
