I got an email from a lady who was trying to find out more information about this item.

Image Not Found It is on one of the front pages of a book apparently used to teach English to a Japanese speaker. I have told her that I feel it is either a revenue of some sort or just a "signature chop" like I find on many Asian prints and other works.

Any ideas???

Thank you for any help!

re: China: unknown stamp

I am not an expert, but most of the time the characters that look like "EP" (lower left if you look at the stamp from the right angle) signify that it is a revenue.

re: China: unknown stamp

My Japanese wife believes it may be Chinese not Japanese. She can read it but suspects it's not Japanese. Old Chinese used Kanji and the Japanese language is based on these symbols. Since she is not a stamp collector she does not want to commit an answer to this question.
