I don't know anything about these, so I'm hoping some of you metre (meter?) experts can chime in and give me some info. I don't think it's rare by any means, but I'd just like what ever you can tell me, for the album page.
thanks in advance.

James:

This is a meter franking to pay postage for a letter from an MPP at Queen's Park.

Remember, only MPs get free franking, MPPs do not.

Hope this helps!

A belated thanks David.
According to my recently acquired Holmes Specialized Philatelic Catalogue (1963), this is a Type 1 meter, by Pitney Bowes Postage Meter Co., first used in 1923.
This type of machine would print only once value, thus few values are known. They are 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 6, 12, and 13 cents. The can be found with or without License number

re: House of Assembly metre cancel

Here is the information I have on this meter:

Pitney Bowes “Model M” (FV-1), 1923.
Very similar to Type A1 but "CANADA", "CENTS", and "POSTAGE" are smaller, letters 2 mm tall.
Other small differences exist.
M# 4002 to 4305.
TM: DC
Values: 1, 2, 3
4, 5 6, 12, 13
a. Without L#
b. With “RETURN POSTAGE/ PREPAID” in TM

Hope this helps?
