Looking for some info and other tidbits about this cover.
1. What was the date of issue and is this an FDC 21 March 1927 Scott only states 1926-1927
2. Is the Dresden Cancel a FDC cancel.

3. It looks like to me that the cover has been redirected. If so why no postage due.
4. What the heck does this say???

Thank you in advance,

re: I have a couple of questions about a 1927 German Airmail Cover

My answers:
1. Haven't got my Michel at hand, so cannot say right now.
2. it looks like a typical airmail cancel to me.
3. on the front side there is written in red: Zurück Dresden, so it was returned to the sender. If a letter is returned there is no postage due.
4. This is funny. It is the explanation why the letter was returned and says "III Pfarrhofgasse 19 besteht nicht. .... (unreadable) unbekannt"
meaning: III (standing for the part of Vienna) Pfarrhofgasse 19 does not exist. .... unknown" However, the address on the front reads Vorhofgasse 19 I...

All stamps in the set, except for the 15 pfg, were issued in April 1926. The 15 pfg was issued May 1927. My Michel doesn't show exact dates of issue for this set.

A Service Dog gives a person with a disability independence. Never approach, distract or pet a working dog, especially when (s)he is in harness. Never be afraid to ask questions to the handler (parent).

Issue date for the 10Pf and 20Pf - April 1st, 1926.

Apparently it's probably one of the grandchildren who has emigrated to the US and/or Canada (heaven forbid one grandchild is in each location!) who is now causing the problems with Bruce's envelope currently still travelling between two sorting stations Big Grin
