Page 6 of the February 3, 2014, issue of Linns shows a picture of a cover from the Air Transport Association of America. Under the return address is an annual summary table of traffic carried by the member air lines from 1930 to 1937. Interesting is the increase in the pounds of mail carried. In 1930 that totaled 8.5 million pounds. In 1937 that had increased to 20.1 million. An interesting foretelling of the doomed future of sending mail by rail car.
