First a little history. In 1942 the OSS started "Operation Cornflakes" with the printing of the following stamps. They were used on envelopes with real business return addresses. They forged/copied postal markings and even mail bags. The letter's wers stuffed with anti-Nazi propaganda and the 12pf Hitler Skull Propaganda stamp. Each envelope was franked with either a forged 12pf stamp or two forged 6pf stamps. All were delivered by the German Post.

First we have the originals:

And now the forgeries:

2 Types of each (Rome and Bern printings) both have minor differences and numerous printings, with different Inks and Paper.

Distinguishing characteristics of the forgeries:
11, 11½, 11½:12½, 12½ or imperforated
Original’s are 14:14¼ (if you have a gauge that measures to ¼”) otherwise 14

Then there are the the "Eyes."
1st the 6pf. Orig. on left. Forgery on Right. Followed by the 12pf.

Revstampman:

Thank you for posting all this information on Hitler head forgeries.
I maintain an album of Third Reich stamps (and related Second World War
postage) and your data is most helpful to me as it is, I'm sure, to
other club members.

My pleasure! As long their is an interest I will continue. I know that when I started in this area it was difficult to find this information. Unless you wanted to spend a fortune on reference materials. With these posts my goal is to prevent anyone from being swindled or taken advantage of.
Happy Hunting!
