Thought I would share this with the group. This was my major purchase from the Springpex show here in Minnesota.

And a close-up of the barely 4-margin stamp.

I paid the most for this item than I have paid for any single philatelic item.

Well done !!!. You were sitting there so focused at the one table for the whole time I was at the show.Thumbs Up This is an excellent find. If you decide you really don't like this item after all, please give me first bids. Applause This item definitely has a story to tell.

Really neat but I don't think I fully appreciate all the details. Would appreciate any information as to why it is so special and what is that postmark?

Nice cover and a very nice reminder of a great ship:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_(clipper)

It looks as though it was posted in Geelong on 24th December 1855 so it had a three month journey to London.

Yes, three months makes more sense, now that you mention it.

I forgot that dealers name. He is a super nice guy. At one point he told me he was moving to Texas, but I am sure glad he stayed. He brings a lot of affordable covers to every show. That cover is a real gem. Great Find Antonio! When I left the "Aussie from Hastings" was right along side of you.
