Should I have received any emails recently from SOR if I have not bought or sold in the auctions or approval books? And I haven't subscribed to any thread notifications. (I didn't know I could.)
If so, I haven't received any emails in a while from SOR. (Was the newsletter sent by email? If so, I did receive that, and I believe that was the last one.)

As we previous discussed, I am not receiving emails from SOR - they are all bounced. Yahoo is my domain host. Only SOR is affected as I receive my mail from everyone else (including a whole lot of spam).
I put my gmail account as preferred e-mail and since then the notifications are coming through as usual.
I just bought some approvals yesterday and get the customary flood of emails. (Gmail)
I use a hotmail account. I have received emails for new postings in the areas for which I requested them. I also received new message notifications. Did the Rambler go out as an email? If so, I did NOT receive that. I hope that helps!

Rambler had an email notification, but that was prior to the current email problem.
I'm having the opposite problem - I'm often getting duplicate emails - I'm with Gmail.
I have Windows Live Mail and have had no problems. I receive email each time someone post on SOR. In fact, had to uncheck some of the boxes to keep from getting flooded.

I use telus.net that comes with my telus internet service, no problems getting SOR emails

I just received some auction close emails, so no problems for me - I use my ISP for email (Time Warner Roadrunner).

Ok, it seems that not all email providers have signed onto this new filtering deal, and it seems to be more focused on the companies based in the US. There doesn't seem to be a problem with emails from the SOR Message system or the Discussion Board. But email notifications from the Auction, the Approvals and perhaps the Invoicing system, are not getting through. The emails from these areas of the website have the Sellers email address in the "From:" area of the email and that is what is causing the problem. I'm going to have to change this in the programs this weekend, to fix the problem. I'm sorry that I can't fix it any sooner.

stamporama.com
and
penny.mystampsite.com
into your safe senders list. I did this today and immediately started getting discussion board messages.
If you want more detail on the process I can send you instructions on the steps.

Really strange. When I submit an invoice, The SOR email notification that I sent the invoice get through fine. But when I get a message on the SOR message system, the SOR email notification gets bounced. Aren't these email notifications coming from the same source? Why does one get bounced and not the other? It cannot be a "spam" issue as neither notification goes to my spam file.

I am with Yahoo and am having big problems with other forums where I have sold and with eBay (not Delcampe thus far).
I am getting around the problem by finding the email addresses and sending direct. But it is a lot of extra work.

In the meantime while we grrrr at some of the servers bouncing emails, I am sending a private email to each person that I invoice through the Stamporama invoicing system.
It would be appreciated if members would respond to these emails to confirm that they have in fact actually received the invoice I have sent.
I have a feeling that some of the invoices are not being received by some members due to no payment or no response to communications.
If you have not received an invoice for items you have purchased, please try to contact the seller by private email or by message. Communication is a two way street!

I'm working on this problem this weekend. The problem seems to be that if the "From" email address doesn't match with the server sending the email, then the emails are being bounced back. I'm changing all the parts of the the SOR website that send emails making them so that all emails are going to be sent from "webmaster@stamporama.com". I'll let you know when I implement the changes.

I second Liz's sentiment. The email situation is not so severe we can't live with it for awhile. This weekend is for family, not for work.

I made a few small changes in spare moments yesterday. All emails from Stamporama.com are now coming from the webmaster email account. This mainly affects the Auction, the Approvals and the Invoices. When you win a lot on the Auction, the email will not come from the Seller anymore, is comes from the webmaster at stamporama.com.
With these changes in place, the emails seem to be flowing again. If you had a problem receiving emails prior to April 15th, you will probable still have a problem.
Please let me know if you are having problems receiving emails, especially if you think it is cause by the changes I have just made.

Was wondering what was wrong. my problem is hard to tell the sold stuff from the unsold stuff. it used to tell me who bought what. Of course, I'm the computer dummy and I don't know about all this bouncing stuff or whatever it is.

Hi Everyone,
I discovered this morning that we have a major email problem. Starting around April 15th all the major email vendors (Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft, Hotmail etc) changed the rules by which they will accept emails from other services. They are insisting that the domain from which the email is sent matches with the email server that is sending the email. This is causing a major problem for us. All the Auction and Approval notifications go out with the Sellers Email Address as the email address sending the email. This makes it very easy for the Buyer to just respond to the email and the response automatically goes to the Seller. This is probably not as big a deal now that almost all sellers use the Invoicing system, but prior to that it was very important for the buyer to be able to easily and quickly respond to the seller when they had won a lot.
So, to help me track down the problem and fix it, could you please post a response to this thread and tell me if you ARE RECEIVING emails still from Stamporama and which emails they are? There are many areas of the website that send out emails and I need to work out which (if any) are still working and which are not working.
